Back in Beauty School our mantra for make-up class was; “It’s a crime not to prime.” So why is it so important to use a primer under our foundation?
Primers can help in many ways from reducing the look of large pores, to minimising fine lines and wrinkles. They also help in absorbing oil while creating a barrier between your skin and the foundation. The overall benefit of a good primer is the ability to help your foundation go on smoother and stay on longer.
All primers are used in the same way. Use them after you apply your moisturiser, allowing a couple minutes for the moisturiser to settle into the skin. Take a pea size amount of primer and apply gently to the skin. The key is to remember that a little goes a long way.
Our favourite Primer is: Dermalogica Age Smart SkinPerfect Primer SPF30. It has a neutral tint that helps balance tone and enhances luminosity and radiance with a 30+ sun protection. Wear alone over your moisturiser for visible smoothness and luminosity, or after moisturiser and before foundation to help fill fine lines for a lasting make-up finish.
